I walked over 1/2 mile over raw lava flows to get to this new Black Sand Beach. This beach didn't form until 1990, making it the first time I had been on a beach that was younger than I was. This beach called Coconut Beach on the South East side of the Big Island of Hawaii was a perfect place to do a shoot. Nothing was going to stand between me and a fun time, so off I went. The surf was crashing, and the beach was warm and wet. I chose to wear a beautiful see-thru yellow Malibu Strings suit which I love to wear. If you look at the photos, sand gets everywhere. I was finding sand in my ears and other places for four days after the shoot. While I was shooting, a bunch of tourists came down to check out the beach and did they get an eye-full. After stopping to talk with them, I got back into the water for more fun. I have been thinking of trying to get some fans to come and help me with some shoots. If you are interested, drop me an e-mail. Maybe some day, I could send in a set photographed all by fans! Just an idea... |
